Pregnant. Open. Recheck. One tap, no signal needed.
HerdHawk is the chute-side recorder for ranchers, vets and preg-check techs. Results save on the phone the moment you tap, sync when you're back in range, and turn into calving dates, reports and Excel-ready spreadsheets.
No signal? No problem. Results save on the phone and sync later.

Preg-check day moves fast. The tally book can't keep up.
Paper gets wet, lost, retyped
Results scribbled at the chute get copied into a spreadsheet at night, if the page survives the day. HerdHawk saves each result the moment it's tapped.
No bars at the working pens
Most apps stall without a connection. HerdHawk is offline-first: it records on the phone and syncs record by record when the signal comes back.
Another monthly bill
Herd-record apps commonly run $13 to $18 a month. HerdHawk is $2.99 once. No subscription, no ads, no upsell screens.
Everything in the box
From the squeeze chute to calving season, in one app.
Every figure comes from your own records. Where the records don't support a number, HerdHawk shows a dash instead of guessing.
Chute Mode
A full-screen, high-contrast recorder built for gloves and glare. Pick the tag color, punch the tag on a big keypad, tap the result. HerdHawk identifies the animal before it saves, blocks double taps, and gives you Undo.

Works with no signal
Every result is saved on the device first and queued. It never waits on the network, and a dropped connection never loses an entry.

Reports to print or save as PDF
Pregnancy outcomes by age group, tag color and herd; check sessions; cycle comparisons; calving schedules; animal and health histories; finance summaries. Each PDF carries the ranch, the filters, the date and page numbers.
Reminders that repeat
Reminders every few days, weeks, months or years. The Android app puts reminders, health follow-ups, rechecks and calvings due in your notifications at the time you choose; the web app shows what's due today.
Pastures
Your pastures with acres, water and fence notes. Move herds between them and see where each herd is and how many days each pasture has been grazed this year.
Search and RFID readers
Find any animal from any screen by tag, electronic ID, name or other ID. A Bluetooth reader in keyboard mode types the EID straight into search or Chute Mode.
Analytics and finances
Charts from your own records: herd size over time, animals joined and left, pregnancy rate by cycle, calvings by month and how spread out they are. Income and expenses by category, for each herd or the whole ranch, with per-head figures where you record a head count.
Dark or Daylight
Dark leather for the barn and evenings, a light Daylight theme for reading outdoors, or follow the phone. Chute Mode keeps its own Low-light and Sunlight themes.
CSV that opens right in Excel
Export animals, sessions, results, cycles, reproductive and health history, finances and pasture moves. Tags keep their leading zeros, dates stay dates, and the export screen tells you exactly what's included: "212 of 212 will be exported."

Built for the whole crew
Invite your crew and vet with a link or a code, sent however you like, with the role they'll have. Roles are enforced on the server, not just hidden in the app. Two phones can record the same day; edits to different fields merge, and true conflicts wait for your review.

Your tags, your rules
Set up the tag colors your ranch actually uses and, if you like, map a color to an age group. Tags are stored exactly as written, so Yellow 12 and Red 12 are different cows and 012 stays 012. Gestation length, heat cycle and recheck interval are yours to set, per breed if needed.

Try it. This is how fast the chute goes.
This demo runs right in your browser with a fictional herd. Punch a tag, tap a result, and watch the counters. Turn the signal on to see the saved changes sync.
Try tag 12 with no color: two cows share it, so HerdHawk asks which one.
Tap the same result twice: the duplicate is blocked, nothing is saved twice.
Change a result: the new one counts, the old one stays in history.
On a keyboard: type the tag, Esc clears, Alt+P pregnant, Alt+O open, Alt+R recheck.

How it works
Set up once. Then it's tag, tap, next cow.
Set up your ranch
Create a free account, name your ranch, and pick your tag colors, age groups and gestation defaults (283 days unless you say otherwise).
Add cattle and a breeding cycle
Add your herd, or skip it: unknown tags are added at the chute. Enroll females in a cycle and record AI dates or bull turnout.
Run the chute
Start a session with date, herd, cycle, examiner and method (ultrasound, palpation, blood test). Tag, tap, next. Signal or not.
Plan calving season
The dashboard, calendar and reports fill in from your results: expected calvings, open cows, rechecks due. Print it, save a PDF or export to CSV.
Offline-first, for real
Out past the last bar of signal? Keep working.
HerdHawk was designed from day one to save on the phone first. When you're back in range it syncs one record at a time, and it only says "All changes synced" when the sync has actually finished.
Nothing is lost to a dropped connection, a dead zone or closing the app.
Two phones, one herd: edits to different fields merge on their own.
Clear conflicts: if two people change the same thing, you choose: keep mine or use the server's.
Syncs when you're back: as the app comes back to the front or the signal returns, and the Android app tells you if changes have waited too long.

Dashboard, calendar & reports
Know where every female stands.
On a laptop at the kitchen table or the vet clinic, the same records lay out wide. Pregnancy rates always say how many were checked, so a half-finished day never looks like a great season.

Honest percentages
Pregnant % leaves out rechecks and unchecked cows, and every report says "17 of 24 checked" so the number can't mislead.
Estimates labelled as estimates
Recorded, confirmed, estimated and scheduled are always marked. No date is invented when the records don't support one.
Filters that carry through
Pick a breeding cycle and herd once; the dashboard, reports and exports all follow, and say which filters are applied.

Calving date calculator
A taste of the math HerdHawk does for every cow. Enter a breeding date, or a bull turnout and removal date, and get the expected calving date or window.
In the app, the estimate uses the best record available: the due date from the check, fetal age at the check, the one breeding that fits, or your breeding window. Gestation follows the cycle, then the breed, then your ranch default.

Questions
Straight answers
Is $2.99 really a one-time price?
Yes. You pay $2.99 once on Google Play. There's no subscription, no per-head charge, no ads and nothing to buy inside the app. The web app is free with your HerdHawk account.
Does it work without cell service?
Yes. Once you've signed in on the phone, you can record animals, breeding records, check sessions and results with no signal. Everything saves on the phone and syncs when you're back in range.
The very first sign-in, creating a ranch, and the first download of your ranch's records need a connection.
Can my crew and vet record on their own phones?
HerdHawk is built for crews. An owner invites people with a link or a code (send it by text, email or the phone's share sheet), choosing their role: manager, worker or viewer. Each person signs in with their own account. Two phones can record the same day; changes to different fields merge, and if two people change the same thing you choose which to keep.
Does it work with an RFID reader?
Yes, with Bluetooth readers that work in keyboard mode (they type the tag number as if on a keyboard). Scan into search or Chute Mode and HerdHawk finds the animal by its electronic ID. Readers that only connect over a serial link aren't supported yet.
Will it remind me what's due?
Yes. Add reminders, one-off or repeating every few days, weeks, months or years. The Android app puts reminders, health follow-ups, rechecks and calvings due in your phone's notifications at the time you choose; they're made on the phone, with nothing sent from a server. The web app shows what's due today when you open it.
Can it keep treatment and withdrawal records?
Yes. Record treatments, vaccinations and other health entries for one animal or a group, with the product, dose, withdrawal date and a follow-up. Withdrawal dates are kept exactly as you enter them from the label; HerdHawk doesn't look up products or check doses, and it isn't veterinary advice.
Is there an iPhone app?
The app is on Android. On an iPhone, iPad or computer, use the HerdHawk web app in your browser with the same account. Open it once while connected and it keeps working offline after that.
How are calving dates worked out?
HerdHawk uses the best record it has: a due date given at the check, fetal age at the check, the only breeding that fits, or the breeding window. It adds gestation from the cycle, the breed or your ranch default (283 days). Estimates are always labelled, and if there's nothing to go on, HerdHawk says so instead of guessing.
Can I get my records out into Excel?
Yes. Export animals, check sessions, results, breeding cycles, reproductive and health history, finances and pasture moves as CSV files that open cleanly in Excel. Tags keep leading zeros, and the export tells you how many records match your filters before you download. Reports can also be saved as PDF.
What if someone taps the wrong result?
Hit Undo, or tap the entry to change it. A double tap of the same result is ignored. When a result is changed, the new one counts and the original stays in the animal's history.
Who can see my ranch data?
Only people who belong to your ranch, with the access their role allows. That rule is enforced on the server. See the privacy policy for the details.
