Terms of Use
Effective October 27, 2026
These terms cover your use of the HerdHawk app (Android and web) and this website. By buying or using HerdHawk, you agree to them.
Purchase and licence
HerdHawk is a one-time purchase of $2.99 (USD, or the local equivalent shown by Google Play). The purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use HerdHawk. It is sold through Google Play, and refunds follow Google Play's refund policy. There is no subscription and nothing to buy inside the app. The web app can be used with a free HerdHawk account.
Your account
You need a HerdHawk account to use the app. Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you give access to your ranch: a ranch's owners decide who joins it, with which role, and who leaves.
Your records
You own the records you enter. You give us permission to store, process and sync them only to provide HerdHawk to you and your ranch's members. You can export them to CSV at any time.
Estimates are estimates
HerdHawk calculates figures such as expected calving dates, heat dates and pregnancy percentages from the records you enter and the settings you choose. They are planning aids, clearly labelled as estimates, and depend on the accuracy of those records. HerdHawk does not give veterinary advice and does not replace your veterinarian's judgement.
Withdrawal dates are kept exactly as you enter them; HerdHawk doesn't look up products or check doses or dates. Check the product label and your veterinarian before marketing or slaughtering treated animals. Finance figures are bookkeeping from your own entries, not accounting or tax advice.
Notifications
Phone notifications in the Android app depend on your phone's settings, including battery savers, and may arrive late or not at all. Don't rely on them alone for animal care or withdrawal times; check the app.
Offline use and sync
HerdHawk saves records on your device and syncs them when a connection is available. Changes that haven't synced can be lost if the device is lost, reset, or its app or browser data is cleared. Sync when you can, and export important records.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse HerdHawk: no attempts to access other ranches' records, disrupt the service, reverse-engineer it to get around its security, or use it for anything unlawful.
Changes and availability
We may update HerdHawk to fix problems and improve it. We aim to keep it available but can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
HerdHawk is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or decisions made from the app's figures. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for HerdHawk. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.
Ending use
You can stop using HerdHawk at any time and ask us to delete your account, from the app or by email (how account deletion works). We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
